Custom batik attire created for Shell Petroleum Sarawak’s team
Meaningful Corporate Attire for Modern Teams
Corporate attire has evolved beyond uniforms.
Today, organisations are increasingly looking for team apparel that reflects who they are — balancing professionalism, comfort, brand identity, and cultural relevance.
This case study highlights our continued partnership with Shell Petroleum Sarawak, a returning client that chose Batik Boutique to create custom batik attire for its team using one of our signature batik designs in Bayou cotton.
More than a uniform, the project demonstrates how Malaysian batik can be integrated into everyday corporate wear, creating a stronger sense of identity while supporting local artisan communities.
Who This Is For
This solution is ideal for organisations looking to create custom batik corporate attire in Malaysia, develop team uniforms with local cultural relevance, support ESG and social impact goals through procurement, strengthen employee identity, and source locally made corporate apparel.
A Returning Partnership Built on Trust
One of the strongest indicators of a successful partnership is when organisations return.
Having previously worked with Batik Boutique, Shell Petroleum Sarawak chose to collaborate with us again for this project, reinforcing the value of quality craftsmanship, reliable delivery, and meaningful impact.
For organisations managing corporate attire programmes, consistency matters. Repeat partnerships allow teams to build long-term solutions that remain aligned with brand values, employee needs, and procurement goals.
Comfort and craftsmanship combined through Bayou cotton and batikCustom Batik Attire Designed for Everyday Wear
For this project, Shell Petroleum Sarawak selected one of Batik Boutique’s signature batik designs to be produced in Bayou cotton, a fabric chosen for its comfort, breathability, and suitability for daily professional wear.
Each piece was handcrafted using traditional batik techniques, produced in Bayou cotton for comfort and practicality, made with consistency across sizing, finishing, and quality, and designed to reflect Malaysian identity through contemporary batik craftsmanship.
The result is corporate attire that feels professional without being generic, allowing employees to wear something that is both functional and meaningful.
Why Bayou Cotton?
Corporate apparel needs to perform throughout the workday.
Bayou cotton offers a lightweight and comfortable wearing experience, making it particularly suitable for Malaysia’s climate. Combined with batik craftsmanship, it creates attire that employees can wear confidently for meetings, events, and everyday work environments.

Supporting artisan communities through every order
Supporting ESG and Social Impact Through Procurement
As a Certified B Corporation and accredited social enterprise, Batik Boutique enables organisations to connect procurement decisions with measurable social impact.
Through this collaboration, Shell Petroleum Sarawak contributed to fair income opportunities for artisan communities, preservation of Malaysian batik craftsmanship, locally made corporate attire production, responsible manufacturing practices, and purpose-driven purchasing decisions.
Corporate attire is often viewed as a functional business expense. However, projects like this demonstrate how team apparel can also support broader ESG objectives while creating a positive impact within local communities.
