Batik Boutique produced 447 coordinated corporate gift sets for Coway using one custom batik-inspired design.

Corporate Gift Sets in Malaysia: How Coway Scaled One Batik Design Across 447 Gifts

For large organisations, a meaningful product is only valuable when it can be delivered consistently.

A strong custom design should not be limited to one product or one occasion. With careful planning, it can become part of a wider corporate identity and be adapted across employee gifting, client appreciation, conferences, recognition programmes, festive campaigns and branded apparel.

Coway engaged Batik Boutique to produce 447 coordinated corporate gift sets featuring a custom batik-inspired design.

The project included:

  • 243 men’s gift sets;

  • 204 women’s gift sets;

  • five coordinated products in each set; and

  • 2,235 individual items in total.

Each set combined practical accessories, custom branding and professional presentation. The project demonstrated how one visual concept could be adapted across multiple product formats while maintaining consistency in colour, motif, construction and brand recognition.

Project at a Glance

Client: Coway
Total gift sets: 447
Men’s gift sets: 243
Women’s gift sets: 204
Products per set: Five
Total individual products: 2,235
Lead products: Custom poly satin necktie and scarf
Supporting products: Card holder, key fob, passport cover and luggage tag
Packaging: Custom gift box sticker and branded story card
Primary objectives: Cohesive design, practical use, scalable production and consistent brand presentation

The Objective: One Cohesive Gift Collection at Corporate Scale

Coway required a premium gifting solution for a large group of recipients.

Rather than assembling unrelated products, the company wanted each item to feel connected through a consistent visual identity. The products needed to work individually while still appearing as part of one carefully developed collection.

The project needed to balance several requirements:

  • one custom motif adapted across multiple products;

  • separate men’s and women’s gift-set variations;

  • practical items recipients could continue using;

  • consistent branding across hundreds of units;

  • reliable production and delivery planning; and

  • professional packaging suitable for presentation.

For organisations sourcing custom corporate gift sets in Malaysia, creating the initial concept is only the beginning.

The supplier must also be able to reproduce that concept accurately across different materials, shapes and production stages. Colours need to remain aligned. Motifs need to be positioned appropriately. Branding details must appear consistently, and every component must be ready for final assembly at the same time.

Batik Boutique developed two related gift-set formats that shared the same core identity while offering a different lead accessory for each recipient group.

The Design Challenge: Adapting One Motif Across Multiple Products

The men’s gift set was led by a custom poly satin necktie, while the women’s set featured a coordinating poly satin scarf.

Both packages also included:

  • a card holder;

  • a key fob;

  • a passport cover; and

  • a luggage tag.

This product selection allowed Coway’s custom design to appear across both wearable accessories and practical travel items.

However, adapting one motif across different formats requires more than repeating the same print.

A design that works across the full length of a scarf or necktie may need to be resized, repositioned or selectively cropped for a smaller card holder. A passport cover has different proportions from a luggage tag, while textile and PU leather surfaces can also affect how colours and fine details appear.

Batik Boutique planned each application according to the size, material and function of the product.

The design needed to remain recognisable without making every piece look visually identical. Each item had to feel appropriate for its format while continuing to belong to the same collection.

This flexibility is one of the key advantages of developing custom corporate gift sets in Malaysia with a supplier that can coordinate textile products, lifestyle accessories, branding and packaging under one project.

The Men’s Gift Set

A total of 243 men’s gift sets were produced.

Each set contained five coordinated products designed around the same custom Coway motif.

Custom Necktie

The lead accessory was a poly satin necktie featuring Coway’s custom batik-inspired design.

The tie measured approximately:

  • 63 inches or 160 centimetres in length;

  • 3 inches or 8 centimetres in width.

A custom Coway woven label was incorporated into the product to reinforce the company’s identity while maintaining a refined finish.

PU Leather Card Holder

The card holder combined machine-printed Bayou Cotton with a structured PU leather base.

It measured approximately 4.5 inches long by 3 inches wide when closed, creating a compact accessory suitable for business cards, identification cards or payment cards.

Key Fob

The key fob featured the same coordinating printed textile, together with:

  • a PU leather wristlet strap;

  • a metal key ring;

  • an embossed Batik Boutique logo on the strap; and

  • engraved branding on the metal ring.

Passport Cover

The passport cover combined the custom-printed textile with a PU leather structure.

It included:

  • a snap closure;

  • internal side pockets; and

  • a finished size of approximately 20 centimetres by 14.5 centimetres when open.

Luggage Tag

The luggage tag completed the travel-focused collection.

It featured:

  • a transparent front window;

  • two additional slots at the back; and

  • an adjustable PU leather strap.

Together, the passport cover and luggage tag gave the set a clear travel theme, while the necktie, card holder and key fob remained useful for professional and everyday settings.

The women’s package paired a custom poly satin scarf with four coordinated travel and lifestyle accessories.

The Women’s Gift Set

A total of 204 women’s gift sets were produced using the same overall design direction.

The lead accessory was a custom poly satin scarf measuring approximately:

  • 79 inches in length;

  • 26 inches in width.

The scarf included:

  • a custom Coway woven label; and

  • an embroidered Batik Boutique logo at the edge.

The set also contained the same four supporting products used in the men’s collection:

  • card holder;

  • key fob;

  • passport cover; and

  • luggage tag.

These items were produced using the same machine-printed Bayou Cotton and PU leather combination, helping maintain consistency between the two packages.

By changing only the lead accessory, Batik Boutique created a clear distinction between the men’s and women’s sets without fragmenting the overall collection.

This modular approach can be valuable for organisations developing custom corporate gift sets in Malaysia for different departments, employee groups, membership tiers or recipient preferences.

The core branding and production process remain aligned, while selected components can be adjusted to better suit the intended audience.

Batik Boutique’s Response

The project began with a review of Coway’s objectives, recipient groups and intended presentation.

Batik Boutique then considered how the custom motif could be adapted across the selected product range without losing its visual identity.

The process included:

  1. developing the custom batik-inspired design;

  2. reviewing motif scale and placement for each product;

  3. selecting suitable textiles and PU leather materials;

  4. preparing samples and prototypes;

  5. confirming dimensions and branding applications;

  6. coordinating production across all five product categories;

  7. conducting quality checks on individual components;

  8. assembling the products into the correct men’s and women’s sets; and

  9. preparing the final packaging and brand cards.

Each stage needed to be aligned with the overall delivery schedule.

Unlike a single-product order, a multi-item gift set cannot be completed until every component is ready. A delay in one product category can affect the assembly and delivery of the entire order.

The production plan therefore needed to account for different manufacturing processes, branding methods, and inspection requirements across the collection.

A structured production and quality-control process helped maintain consistency across 2,235 individual items.

Producing 2,235 Products With Consistent Quality

An order of 447 five-piece gift sets represented 2,235 individual products.

Each component was produced separately before being inspected, sorted and placed into its final package.

Consistency needed to be managed across several areas:

  • motif scale and placement;

  • printed colours;

  • textile and PU leather combinations;

  • product dimensions;

  • stitching and construction;

  • woven labels;

  • embroidery;

  • embossing;

  • engraving;

  • set assembly; and

  • packaging.

Quality control was particularly important because recipients would experience the products as one complete gift set.

A minor inconsistency in one component could affect the presentation of the full package. For example, variations in printed colour, label position or finishing could become more noticeable when several coordinated products were viewed together.

Batik Boutique therefore checked both the individual items and the completed sets.

Careful production scheduling also helped ensure that no single component delayed final assembly.

This operational planning is essential when producing custom corporate gift sets in Malaysia for fixed event dates, festive campaigns or employee programmes.

A meaningful concept must be supported by reliable execution.

Custom packaging and a branded story card brought the five products together as one cohesive gift.

Custom Packaging and Brand Storytelling

Each set was presented in a gift box finished with a custom-designed sticker.

The packaging served several purposes.

It brought the five products together as one collection, protected the items during handling and ensured that the gift was ready for professional presentation.

Batik Boutique’s design team also developed a complimentary custom brand card in a glossy hard-card finish.

The card measured approximately 14.5 by 10.5 centimetres and provided space for Coway to communicate a message to recipients.

A brand card can add important context to a corporate gift.

Without explanation, recipients may see only a collection of products. With the right message, they can understand why the design was created, what inspired it and how the products connect to the organisation’s values.

For large corporate orders, packaging and inserts should therefore be treated as part of the overall experience rather than as final decorative additions.

They help transform separate products into a considered brand touchpoint.

The Result

The final project delivered:

  • 447 complete corporate gift sets;

  • 243 men’s sets;

  • 204 women’s sets;

  • 2,235 individual products;

  • one coordinated custom batik-inspired design;

  • distinct lead accessories for each recipient group;

  • consistent branding across textile and lifestyle products; and

  • presentation-ready packaging with a custom brand card.

The project successfully balanced creativity with the practical requirements of a large corporate order.

Coway received two gift-set formats that felt distinct but remained visually connected. Every product could be used independently, while the complete package communicated a clear and consistent brand identity.

The project also demonstrated that scale does not have to mean generic.

With detailed design adaptation, production planning and quality control, a custom concept can retain its character even when reproduced across hundreds of sets and thousands of individual components.

Extending One Design Beyond a Single Order

One of the most valuable aspects of a custom motif is its ability to support more than one product or campaign.

The Coway design direction could potentially be extended across:

  • corporate uniforms;

  • event accessories;

  • employee onboarding kits;

  • travel sets;

  • service awards;

  • recognition gifts;

  • festive campaigns;

  • client appreciation programmes; and

  • branded apparel.

For larger organisations, this creates an opportunity to develop a recognisable corporate collection rather than starting from a completely new concept for every occasion.

Different products can be selected according to audience, purpose and budget while continuing to share the same motif, colour palette and brand identity.

This approach can also improve long-term planning.

Once the design direction and core material specifications have been established, future applications may be developed more efficiently. Products can be introduced gradually across different campaigns while retaining a cohesive visual story.

By combining custom design, sourcing, production capacity, branding, quality control and packaging, Batik Boutique can support custom corporate gift sets in Malaysia as part of a broader annual gifting or corporate-apparel programme—not only as a one-time order.

Supporting Local Production and Meaningful Work

Working with a Malaysian supplier gives organisations an opportunity to incorporate local design references into their corporate programmes.

Projects of this scale support work across multiple stages, including:

  • concept development;

  • graphic and textile design;

  • material preparation;

  • printing;

  • cutting;

  • sewing;

  • assembly;

  • branding application;

  • packaging; and

  • quality control.

A larger or recurring partnership can also provide more consistent production opportunities for the people involved.

The Coway project demonstrates that cultural and social value do not need to come at the expense of reliability.

With structured planning and clear quality standards, a locally developed collection can be produced at scale while meeting the presentation and operational requirements of a large organisation.

From One Motif to a Scalable Corporate Collection

The Coway project shows what becomes possible when corporate gifting is planned as a coordinated system rather than a collection of unrelated products.

The objective was not simply to create 447 boxes.

It was to develop one strong design identity and apply it consistently across multiple products, recipient groups and branding formats.

From the custom motif and material selection to sampling, production, quality control and packaging, every stage contributed to the final result.

The completed gift sets were practical, visually cohesive and ready for professional presentation.

More importantly, the project created a design foundation that could potentially continue across future gifts, events, uniforms and corporate programmes.

That is the difference between producing a one-time corporate item and building a recognisable collection.
