Bringing Out Batik
Throughout the year, Batik Boutique produced uniquely artisanal collections thoughtfully and beautifully designed by the team and handcrafted by local artisans.
Batik Boutique launched several batik collections in 2022 including Batik Booster Collection for Hari Raya, Summer & Travel Collections, KL Collection highlighting the ever-expanding KL skyline, and ended the year luxuriously with Batik Lux Collection during the holiday season – collections for the global and local market highlighting hand-crafted batik for the world.
Closer to the Connections
Batik Boutique also forged a closer bond with its partners and customers by hosting fun, educative and impactful events like Corporate Comms, Influencers For Good, Fundraising events for refugee education, and their annual holiday collection launch.
For the first time ever, Batik Boutique ventured outside Malaysia physically and opened at Boutique Fairs Singapore with great success and positive feedback.
Joining Hands
Batik Boutique also had many great opportunities to work with various well-known brands and organizations for corporate gifting and Gift with Purchase (GWP) campaigns such as IKEA, Spotify, and Watson to create long-lasting, impactful partnerships that give back to the community.
A Thread of Impacts
The goal that drives Batik Boutique is the social impact of empowering communities via training and upskilling so they can achieve financial independence for themselves and their families.
Batik Boutique has proudly achieved various milestones in creating positive impacts such as funding an internship program for 10 batik artisans, supporting 12 refugees' education monthly, training and providing sustainable employment for 20 new seamstresses, and providing washing machines and refrigerators for seamstresses at their sewing training center in the PPR flats. This is how we can create a meaningful impact together.
Batik Boutique also opened their own in-house production center which provides employment for 6 new batik artists with the aim to keep the art of batik thriving.
